Privacy Policy
The short version: your record collection lives on your device. If you turn on backup & sync, we store where your records sit — never what they are. No analytics, no ads, no selling data.
What VLOrganizer does
VLOrganizer helps vinyl collectors organize their physical record collection. It connects to your Discogs account to read your collection, and maps your records onto the shelves and crates you actually own.
Data stored on your device
VLOrganizer is local-first. When you connect Discogs, your collection — artists, titles, years, labels, genres, formats, and cover thumbnails — is fetched from Discogs and stored only on your device. Your Discogs sign-in happens on Discogs' own site; VLOrganizer never sees your Discogs password, and the access token Discogs issues is stored in your device's Keychain. Requests to Discogs go directly from your device to Discogs, governed by Discogs' privacy policy.
Data stored in the cloud (optional)
Backup & sync is optional and off until you sign in with Apple. Signing in creates an account keyed to your Apple ID — you can hide your email address using Apple's built-in option. When enabled, VLOrganizer syncs only organizational data:
- Your storage setup: shelf and crate names, their layout, and which record formats each holds
- Your sorting rules and placement preferences
- Where each record sits — a shelf position tied to a Discogs catalog number
- Your own corrections: sorting overrides and placement protections you've set
What never leaves your device:
- Artist names, album titles, and any music metadata
- Cover artwork
- Your Discogs credentials and access token
Someone reading the synced data could see the shape of your shelves — but not what music you own. Synced data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with per-account access controls on infrastructure hosted by Supabase.
What we don't do
- No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes all local data. Signing out of backup stops all syncing. To have your synced data deleted from our servers, email support@vinyllynold.com from the address associated with your account and we'll remove it. You can also revoke VLOrganizer's Discogs access any time from your Discogs account settings, and stop using Sign in with Apple from your Apple ID settings.
Children
VLOrganizer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially — for example, when subscriptions launch — we'll update this page and its date above.
